A couple of weekends ago I went to a rave at WhirlyGig at Jacks club in London. The setup for it was amazing, very colourful, the whole place was decorated in psychedelic drapes and paintings and everyone was very friendly. The lights were turned up on in the main room which I found a bit weird, but downstairs in the chill out room (which is where I ended up spending most of the night anyway) it was really nice. At the end they close it with a parachute and everyone sits inside… well almost everyone as there wasn’t quite room for everyone, I couldn’t quite fit in. All in all a great night and one I would highly recommend. I will definitely be going there again. In terms of rave clothing I wore my Tie-die t-shirt, I was the only one wearing one… not that I paid much attention to that on the night!
Below is the flyer for the next Whirly.

Last saturday I went to Nottingham for Firefly. The night was one (if not the) best of my life! All my friends came too and we had an amazing time. It ended at 6am, which is of course when we left, then headed back to a house for an after party.
It was a top rave, but I’d left my rave clothing at Home due to traveling around the country (5 cities in 2 weeks) beforehand. Here is the flyer for the event:

I got back from glade festival. It was a fantastic rave we all had an amazing time. Me and some friends arrived on Thursday, but the music didn’t start till Friday. The atmosphere for the entire festival (Thurs-Sunday night) was great and so was the music. There were thousands of people there and many of them, including me dressed up in our crazy rave clothes and costumes. That’s me on the right in the picture below.

Going back to the real world is very sad, everyone is so grey, bored, boring and depressing. I cant wait till the next Glade!

I went to a massive rave at Dance Island last saturday. The event had a capacity of 10,000 people but apparently only 3500 tickets were sold, but that did not stop the great atmosphere of the event. There were several massive tents and one outdoor stage. I was really looking forward to raving under the stars but they were not very visible and the outdoor stage was shut down quite early.
I spent most of the night in the Natural Born Ravers Tent dancing very vigorously for 5 hours! I ended up with a blister on my toe and very sore legs and arms and a rather bad cold! It was still a really great night. My only suggestion for the future is to have free water available in each tent to save long trips across the field mid-rave in the freezing cold. I failed to get much rave clothing as the store here is not great, but I am preparing myself fully for Glade Festival which is the next event and is in just 9 days!
Here is the lineup from Dance Island:

Last Saturday I went to a fantastic rave at FireFly in Nottingham (in the UK). It was a amazing night and by far the best rave (albeit commercial) that I have ever been to. It ended at 6 am, which of course we stayed for then we headed back to an after party until mid-day. I was exhausted by 6am after dancing for the entire night. Finally a couple of hours of sleep were had before I got the train back to Cambridge. Overall a really great night! I had somewhat of a mid-week-hangover where my brain failed to function for a few days but all is right in the world again and I all have to say is I can’t wait till the next rave!
